How to Create Your Own Diffusion Panel for Clean and Simple Video Lighting

As a filmmaker, you know
how important it is to get your lighting right, but this can only really come
from a good understanding of how light works. Knowing what you want to achieve
is half the battle.

Using a diffuser is a
great way to soften light, but buying one can become expensive depending on
size and how easy it is to transport. In this lesson, we look at how you can
create your own diffusion panel with a wooden frame and some thin fabric. We’ll cover
what you’ll need, whether that’s materials you may have in your home, or a few
items from your local DIY store: these should cost you less than $20.
