I HOPE YOU ARE NOT DOING THIS!!!

Hi filmmaker, first off I want to thank you for your support of what I am doing. I plan to teach you the ins and outs of filmmaking and I am very glad and proud that you are reading this blog.

Today I will be sharing some advice that can either make or your break your business.

I want to talk about the power of versatility

What does versatile mean? Versatile means: capable of or adapted for turning easily from one to another of various tasks, fields of endeavor, etc…

So basically versatility has to do with how many things you are capable of doing.

Being a videographer, you should be able to do almost everything related to videography/cinematography. For photographers, the same thing.

Don’t forget that the more services you offer, the more business you get. Just because you have a drone or some sort of other equipment, doesn’t mean that you should just focus on that. (Unless you already have a profitable reputation from that specific line of work, i.e. aerial videography/photography).

THE MORE YOU DO, THE MORE USEFUL YOU ARE!

Here is a great example… The Simpsons, do you know that show? It has to be one of longest running and funniest TV show of all time! Each person who was hired to do the voices in the show is able to do not only one character’s voice, but many!

Being versatile is the best and most simplistic way of doing business. The more you do, the more you earn. Plain and simple.

If you are weak in some cinematography or photography areas, I suggest you do what you can to learn and turn those weak spots into strengths.

Look at it from a client’s point of view… Are they going to hire someone who is only good in one area, or would they rather pick someone who is good in all areas? It is much less hassle for the client if they hire only one person who is able to do many jobs.

Think about it!
