Snapchat Spectacles are not dead, in fact, the social app has just launched three new versions of its wearable camera.
Before you get too excited for a totally new device, these "new" versions of the firm's Specs offer a number of smaller upgrades over the originals.
There are three new colors – onyx, ruby, and sapphire – and you can now pick between two lens shades for each of the colors.
A welcome addition to Snapchat Spectacles Version 2 is water resistance, allowing you to keep the specs on when the rain comes down, and even – Snapchat claims – in shallow water.
Every (up to) 30 second snap captured on the version 2 specs will be recorded in HD (1216 x 1216) by default, with no standard resolution option (which is default on version 1).
Version 2 Snapchat Specs can also snap pictures too, at 1642 x 1642 (which is around 2.7MP). The pictures are unlikely to be bursting with detail then, but for the odd snap here and there it should suffice.
There's also enough memory on the Snapchat Spectacles to store up to 150 videos or 3,000 photos at a time. Snapchat has also included dual microphones in the new specs, providing better audio capture too.
The new Snapchat Spectacles are available now in the US, Canada and France, and the new wearables will go on sale in Ireland, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Spain and Italy on May 3.
In terms of new Snapchat Spectacles price, they'll set you back £149.99, which includes the charging case and cable.
